About the Program
Bachelor of Optometry is an undergraduate degree program that is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills related to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of various eye and vision disorders. It is a four-year program that covers various aspects of optometry, including eye anatomy and physiology, refractive errors, binocular vision, ocular diseases, contact lens fitting, and low vision rehabilitation.
The program is divided into both theoretical and practical components, which helps students gain a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Students are required
to attend lectures. seminars, and practical training sessions conducted by experienced optometrists and eye care professionals.
Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Optometry degree, students become eligible to work as optometrists in various settings such as eye clinics, hospitals, private practices, and
community health centers. They can also pursue further studies in this field by enrolling in a higher degree program, such as a master's or PhD in optometry

Eligibility Criteria:
Pass in 10+2 with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology as major subjects with 45% marks (in average) and passed in individual subjects
Admission Criteria:
The candidates who fulfill the prescribed eligibility criterion for various courses are selected by the admission committee of the institute purely on merit basis and the interview conducted for the purpose. Eligibility concessions, if any, are as per the Tripura Govt rules and regulations.
The applicants must bring their original mark sheets and relevant pass certificates along with attested photocopies of the same when coming for interview.
